he Historic Anderson House Bed and Breakfast located in Mississippi River town, Wabasha Minnesota,  is a true step back into yesterday.   Most of the furniture dates back to the 1856 opening, making this Minnesota's oldest operating Bed and Breakfast, and West of the Mississippi!

Historic Sign The present innkeepers, Teresa & Mike Smith are using Grandma Anderson's personality and plans in place, though it has been years since she purchased and ran the hotel and restaurant.   Her remarkable knowledge of foods is still the cornerstone of the Bed and Breakfast's success.
The ever-filled cookie jar is still present at the front desk. Grandma's famous Chicken Noodle Soup, Dutch Cinnamon Rolls and Chicken & Dumplings still lend great interest and excitement to the daily menus in The Historic Anderson House Dining Rooms.
As in Grandma's day, shoes left outside the door are meticulously shined. Cold feet will produce a hot brick for your bed, carefully presented in a quilted envelope. Grandma Anderson's Kitchen
